Welcome to Oakdale Baptist Church
Building a community to better know God

Our
Story
Our History
In 1905 at a prayer meeting it became a dream vision to have a Baptist Church in Oakdale. In those days few people had cars and most had to talk to First Baptist Chruch on Main Street. In 1911, First Baptist Church built a mission on the corner of Chili and Adams Avenues. It was a 26' x 52' structrue. The community was growing and a need for a new church was recognized. IN 1915, with 27 charter members, the church was organized as an independent Baptist Church.
In 1951 the first addition was started. This took 2 years to get done as the was built only as money came in. This building was soon outgrown and in 1954 was decided a new Church was needed. It took 5 years to get enough money to start building procedures.
In 1959 the ground was broken and the corner stone was laid. On February 14th, 1960, the first service was held in the new addition. In years following, God had richly blessed.
